Thai Hom Mali Rice Definition (2016)

This Thai Agricultural Standard applies to Thai Hom Mali rice produced from the grain of Oryza sativa L. which including paddy, brown rice and white rice derived from the paddy of the fragrant nonglutinous rice varieties which are sensitive to photo period and cultivated as a main crop in Thailand. The Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, has certified the varieties as Khao Dawk Mali 105 variety and RD15 variety. Its grains contain a natural fragrant aroma depending on its age, and when cooked, retains a soft texture.

Thai Jasmin Rice Definition (2016)

Thai Fragrant Rice (Thai Jasmine Rice, Thai Aromatic Rice or any other names of the same meaning) means Cargo rice and White rice that are processed from the non-glutinous rice paddy of fragrant varieties that are produced in Thailand and certified by Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operative as non-glutinous rice of fragrant varieties. They have natural aroma depending on whether they are new or old crop. The cooked rice of which has tender texture.
